September 30, 2022 - As a parent who cares deeply about our Mariposa County Schools, it is with great hope and a clear vision for where our schools need to go that I am asking you to vote for Kelly Salonen for Mariposa County School Board Trustee, District 3.

Our students, families, and educators are looking for leaders to unite us around a shared vision of high-quality schools that benefit every student in Mariposa. On a local level, we need to work more collaboratively with parents to develop and implement our public education criteria and goals. Through open dialogue, we can understand and respect different perspectives which allows us to make the best decisions for our children's education.

Like me, Kelly has no ties to the district or personnel that would be a cause for her to recuse herself. She is honest, personable, and we are the two candidates who have the most similar qualities and views. Kelly also believes that parents should have the final say about what their children are being exposed to in public schools. From the subject materials being taught to what mandates that their children are being forced to partake in.

For too long our school district has avoided some difficult decisions around reconciling the needs and wants for our school communities. Please join me in voting for Kelly Salonen for School Board, Mariposa County, District 3 because our students and parents deserve a school board that will be a champion for our public schools, our collective vision, and get education right for all of our students.
