Update: The 2020 Search and Rescue Fundraising Dinner has been postponed with no new date selected as of yet.

March 4, 2020 - The Mariposa County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Team will be hosting the 10th Annual Fundraising Dinner on Saturday, March 28, 2020. The event will be held in Building A at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds  located at 5007 Fairgrounds Rd. Technical demonstrations will begin at 5:00 P.M. The 6:00 P.M. sit-down rib, sausage, beans, salad and dessert dinner will be prepared by the Lions Club and served by SAR Team members.

A limited number of $25 tickets are available from SAR members and at the Sheriff's Office. Contact Kristie or Andrea at (209) 966-3615 for information and tickets.

Raffle prizes will include outdoor gear, a Tandem Parachute Jump, a Scenic Flight over Yosemite and a wide variety of other items. 8 special cakes will be auctioned.

The SAR Team is made up of volunteer members ranging in age from high school students to retirees. Members are required to provide their own equipment, such as hiking gear, GPS units, backpacks, tents, climbing harnesses, headlamps and 4x4 vehicles. The equipment and training are expensive, and, with the exception of Swiftwater Rescue equipment, nearly everything is bought by members or through donations.

Mariposa Search and Rescue is currently in need of volunteers.  To join, please pick up an application at the Sheriff's Office.

We appreciate the community's support,  which enables us carry out our mission “That Others May Live”.
