The Mariposa Butterfly Festival is Back 

June 4, 2021 - The Mariposa Butterfly Festival is returning to the small Gold Rush Town of Mariposa, California in a big way on July 3-4, 2021.  This marks the first 7 3 21 Butterfly fest adyear the Festival will be held at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds.

On Saturday, July 3 at 9:15 A.M. the festivities will begin with the patriotic parade through Downtown Mariposa.  At 12:00 noon the fun moves over to the County Fairgrounds where a skydiver will soar across the sky above the Festival with a giant American Flag and land within the Fairgrounds on both days of the event. 

Attractions include the Butterfly Zone where over 4,500 guests will get to know their very own butterfly. The Virtual Zone features video walls and the attraction, Butterfly Roundup, where some lucky guests, through the miracle of film, get to fly around the world on a butterfly.  Over 95 artisans are set to show off and sell their creations at the festival.  Pony rides, a bounce house and waterslide will keep the kids busy and a little damp.  And the Classic Car and Truck show is set for the Front Lawn of the Fairgrounds on Saturday which will make dad very happy.

The all new Habitat Row will feature many local and international conservation organizations  entertaining and educating the Festival guests concerning the importance of cultivating the right vegetation that supplies the necessary food for the insects who are a significant part of a healthy environment. 

Guests will be treated to the best of Mariposa’s local bands playing all day and into the evening at the Amigo Stage both days of the event.

Parking is $5, but entrance to the festival is Free.  Hours are Saturday, July 3 from 12:00 noon to 8:00 P.M. and Sunday, July 4 from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.

Mariposa is located where Ca. Highway 140 meets Highway 49.
