Homicide in Fallbrook
February 10, 2024 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Department on February 9, 2024, at approximately 4:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the report of a disconnected call for help in the 1600 block of S. Mission Road in Fallbrook. When they arrived, they found an unknown adult male deceased at the location. A witness advised deputies that a potential suspect fled from the area on foot with blood on his clothing. The witness provided deputies with the suspect's description. Deputies began searching the area and set up a perimeter. A short time later, a neighbor reported a suspicious person in their yard. After a foot pursuit, deputies were able to safely detain the suspect.
At this time the victim's identity has not been confirmed and family has not been notified.
Sheriff's Homicide investigators are working to gather more information to determine the circumstances and motivation behind this death. The investigation is ongoing. No information about the suspect is being released at this time. There are no outstanding suspects.
