April 24, 2024 - Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 9:54 p.m., deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station responded to the 33000 block of riverside county sheriff logoBreckenridge Trail, Wildomar, regarding the report of an assault with a deadly weapon.

Upon arriving at the location, the deputies located a 64-year-old female suffering from stab wounds inside a residence. Deputies rendered medical aid to the victim, and she was transported to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. The Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed control of the investigation.

During the initial investigation, a 24-year-old male resident of Wildomar and the son of the victim was detained in connection to the incident. The male adult, Evan Jon Zavala, was arrested and transported to the Cois Byrd Detention Center, where he was booked for murder. This investigation is ongoing, and no additional information is available.
