Arson Arrest
December 3, 2024 – El Cajon, CA – CAL FIRE Law Enforcement Investigators arrested Allen Dinoyo. Dinoyo was arrested for igniting approximately nine separate vegetation fires. The first fire occurred on November 10, 2024, within the community of Jamul, California. The next six fires occurred on Wednesday, November 20 and all within a span of less than two hours. The fires on November 20, 2024, were located within the communities of Rancho San Diego, Jamul and Dehesa, California, within the County of San Diego. The subsequent two fires occurred on November 30, 2024, within the cities of San Diego and La Mesa.
Vigilant witnesses provided CAL FIRE investigators critical information which assisted in identifying Dinoyo as a suspect. Along with witness statements and subsequent investigative efforts CAL FIRE Law Enforcement, in cooperation with partners at San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, were able to determine Dinoyo's location. Throughout the entire investigation, public safety remained the top priority for all Law Enforcement involved.
Dinoyo, a transient resident of San Diego County, was arrested on Saturday, November 30, 2024, on multiple felony arson charges. The investigation report will be referred to the San Diego County District Attorney's Office. CAL FIRE wants to remind the public that arson investigations are complex and require thorough evidence collection, scene examination, and witness interviews, which can be time-consuming. Accurate findings are essential for accountability and preventive measures. We appreciate the public's support and patience throughout this comprehensive investigation.
