Homicide Investigation (Update)
December 5, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that during the course of the investigation, investigators 
from the Central Homicide Unit identified the suspects in this case as 18-year-old Gael Silva (pictured) and a 17-year-old male juvenile, both residents of Coachella. On December 3, 2024, homicide investigators arrested Silva and the juvenile in the Coachella area with the assistance of investigators from the Major Crimes Unit and the Thermal Station Coachella Community Action Team.
Silva was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside for murder, and the juvenile was booked into juvenile hall. The juvenile’s name will not be released due to his age. The investigation is still ongoing, and no additional information will be released at this time.

Update: Homicide investigators identified the victim in this case as 44-year-old Roman Gamboa of Thermal, California. The investigation is still on-going and no additional information will be released at this time.
