Homicide Investigation
April 20, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on April 18, 2025, at 9:40 a.m., deputies from the Perris Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to do a welfare check call in the 2100 block of Glimmer Way, Perris. Deputies were requested to check on a female resident at the location. Upon the deputies’ arrival, they located evidence of a homicide. The scene was secured and investigators from the Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit were requested to respond to the scene and assume the investigation. Human remains were later located at the residence.
John Cruthirds, a 44-year-old male from Perris, was identified as the suspect. Cruthirds was later arrested without incident and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for murder.
The identification of the decedent will be withheld pending positive identification and notification to next-of-kin.
