Brandishing a Firearm 

September 26, 2025 – Live Oak, CA - Sutter County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on September 24, 2025, deputies from the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Larkin Road and Date Street following a report of a physical altercation involving a firearm. Upon arrival, deputies determined that a male suspect had physically assaulted an elderly male victim and brandished a firearm during the confrontation.

The suspect was identified as 19-year-old Jesus Madrigal of Live Oak.

A search warrant was obtained for Madrigal’s residence. During the execution of the search warrant, deputies recovered three handguns, several high-capacity magazines, ammunition, and approximately five pounds of processed marijuana. One of the seized firearms matched the description provided by the victim. Additionally, two of the firearms had their serial numbers removed, and one was confirmed to have been previously reported stolen.

Madrigal was transported and booked into the Sutter County Jail on multiple felony charges, including elder abuse, criminal threats, battery, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, brandishing a firearm, and illegal possession of marijuana.
