November 7, 2025 – San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Wednesday,
November 5, 2025, at approximately 3:10 A.M. (0310 hours), Morongo Station Deputies responded to the 51000 block of Twentynine Palms Highway, for an unknown problem. Deputies located victim 2, with visible lacerations to the left side of her face, neck and left shoulder area.
The investigation revealed that victim 2, was asleep on a chair inside of the residence and woke up to see the suspect, known as Rocky in the kitchen. The suspect then stabbed victim 1, ultimately killing him and stabbed victim 2 prior to fleeing the scene. The suspect was no longer at the incident location when deputies arrived.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail also responded to the location and assumed the investigation.
Detectives determined the suspect was known to live at the same incident location in another residence. The Specialized Enforcement Division (SED) was contacted and responded to the location for assistance in apprehending the suspect who was found inside of his residence.
Rocky Duarte was arrested without further incident for PC187- Murder and remains in custody at the West Valley Detention Center.
