Arrest of Human Trafficking Suspect 

January 18, 2026 – Yuba City Police Department officials report that Officers with the Yuba City Police Department have arrested 21-year-old Isaac Mejia-Bahena, of Yuba City, on an outstanding warrant following a months-long investigation by our Investigations Unit.

The case began in May 2025 as a missing juvenile investigation. As detectives continued their work, they discovered evidence showing the juvenile had been exploited and trafficked. The investigation included extensive follow-up, review of digital evidence, and coordination with several partner agencies.

Mr. Mejia-Bahena was taken into custody and booked into the Sutter County Jail on charges related to human trafficking of a juvenile, along with other related offenses.

This investigation is still ongoing. To protect the privacy and safety of the victim, no additional details are being released at this time.
