Home Invasion and Pursuit
February 2, 2026 – Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office officials report that late last week, South County deputies responded to a home invasion in unincorporated Gilroy. Several masked suspects armed with handguns held victims at gunpoint, stole personal items, and fled in the victims’ BMW.
Using Flock license plate readers, deputies tracked the stolen vehicle through Morgan Hill. Morgan Hill Police Department initiated a pursuit, with CHP - Hollister-Gilroy and Gilroy Police Department also assisting. The car was stopped after spike strips and a PIT maneuver.
Two suspects were arrested. Deputies recovered a loaded firearm, stolen property, and drugs. The driver is a convicted felon; the passenger had a large amount of methamphetamine. Both face several charges including robbery, carjacking, and recklessly evading police.
Two other suspects remain at large. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office.
