reporting party was in the area of Fossil Bed Road, he discovered human remains, including a skull. Barstow deputies arrived at the scene and located the remains. The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail also responded to the location and assumed the investigation. Detectives along with the Coroner's Division and Crime Scene Specialists conducted a search in the area and collected many bones and fragments belonging to the decedent. An autopsy will be conducted, while additional information is pending DNA results for the identification of the remains.
