Jurupa Valley Fatal Hit & Run Traffic Collision 

February 22, 2026 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on February 21, 2026, at 12:03 am, deputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a traffic collision involving a pedestrian in the area of Van Buren Boulevard and Jurupa Road, Jurupa Valley. Deputies arrived and located the pedestrian in the roadway, with significant injuries who was pronounced deceased at the scene. Following the collision, the vehicle fled the scene. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle. The suspect vehicle was described as an unknown-colored sedan with major damage to the front.  

The Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Reconstruction Team responded and assumed the investigation. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, and it is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role in this incident. The victim’s name is being withheld pending next-of-kind notification. This is an ongoing investigation, and no further details are available at this time.

The collision investigation required the temporary closure of Van Buren Boulevard between Jurupa Road and Limonite Avenue to process the scene and collect evidence.
