In-Custody Death 

April 30, 2026 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that in January 2026, an inmate was admitted to a local hospital for long-term treatment of an existing diagnosed illness. Deputies from the Robert Presley Detention Center provided security based on the inmates’ custody status. During the treatment of the illness, the inmate's health declined.

On Tuesday, April 28, 2026, the inmate was pronounced deceased by attending hospital physicians. Investigators from the Riverside Sheriff’s Corrections Central Investigations Unit were notified of the in-custody death and assumed the investigation. The inmate’s name is being withheld at this time pending next of kin notification.
