UPDATE #2: Sexual Battery in Poway
May 6, 2026 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Department officials report that the San Diego County Sheriff's Office has obtained images from surveillance video of a person of interest in a sexual battery incident involving a 10-year-old girl in Poway.
Take a good look at these images. Someone out there knows this person.
On Saturday, May 2, just after 6:00 p.m., a 10-year-old girl was sexually battered by a man near the 13400 block of Midland Road. The juvenile's friend was with her and screamed for the suspect to stop. He stopped and fled the scene on an electric scooter.
Deputies from the Poway Sheriff's Station, assisted by a Sheriff's ASTREA helicopter and Sheriff's K-9 Unit, searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Sheriff's Child Abuse Unit (CAU) Detectives took over the investigation.
On Monday, May 4, the Sheriff's Office released two sketches of the suspect.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man between 30-40 years old with a medium build. He stands approximately 5'10" tall and has black shaved hair with a receding hairline. The suspect was unshaven and has a large nose, acne scars and bushy eyebrows. He was last seen wearing black sunglasses, a grey colored hooded sweatshirt and black shorts.
