Homicide Investigation - Update 

May 31, 2026 – Salton City, CA – Imperial County Sheriff's Office officials report that the Investigations Unit has been Imperial County Sheriff Office logoworking diligently on the case involving the death of Pedro Montes Jr. Through extensive investigative efforts, including the review of digital evidence, physical evidence, and statements from involved parties, investigators identified four individuals connected to the homicide.

On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at approximately 11:30 a.m., the Imperial County Sheriff's Office conducted an operation that resulted in the arrest of all four identified suspects.

Investigators first located Andrew Gallegos, 55, a resident of Salton City, at his place of employment in the Salton City area. He was taken into custody without incident.

Investigators then served a search warrant at a residence located in the 2400 block of Shore Hawk Avenue in Salton City, where they contacted and arrested Robert Gallegos, 57, and Crystal Hernandez, 37. Investigators later located Blanca Robles, 53, at a nearby business where she was also arrested. All four subjects named were previously identified as persons of interest in the case.

All four individuals were arrested, interviewed, and booked into the Imperial County Jail. Andrew Gallegos was booked for 187(a) PC-Murder and is being held on 1-million-dollar bail. Robert Gallegos, Crystal Hernandez and Blanca Robles were all booked for 187(a) PC Murder and 32 PC-Accessory After the Fact and are also being held on 1-million-dollar bail.
