Soliciting Sex from a Minor - San Marcos 

June 27, 2026 – San Diego County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Thursday, June 25, deputies and detectives from the San Marcos Sheriff's Station, along with Sheriff's Detectives from the San Diego Human Trafficking Task Force (HTTF), conducted an apprehension operation at a hotel in San Marcos.

Carlo Quinonez (53) was a suspect in an ongoing narcotics sales investigation. During the investigation, detectives learned that Quinonez was interested in soliciting sexual services with a juvenile. Eventually, Quinonez agreed to meet at a specified location to engage in sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl. Upon arrival, detectives contacted Quinonez. He was found in possession of various controlled substances and paraphernalia demonstrating his intention to have a sexual encounter. 

Quinonez was arrested without incident. He was booked into the Vista Detention Facility on charges of narcotics sales and transportation (11378 HS & 11379(A) HS), soliciting/arranging sex from a minor (288.4 (B) PC & 288.3 PC), as well as committing a felony while on bail (12022.1 PC). Quinonez remains in custody without bail.
