Suspect Arrested for Sexual Assault of a Minor 

June 27, 2026 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on June 24, 2026, deputies and investigators assigned to the Southwest Sheriff’s Station began an investigation into an allegation of sexual assault of a minor. The victim reported being assaulted during a martial arts lesson. Based on the allegations, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Special Victims Unit responded and assumed the investigation.

The suspect was identified as Dzung Mai, a 62-year-old resident of Temecula. Investigators learned that Mai had been teaching martial arts from his residence for the past several years, instructing students aged 5 to 19.

On June 26, 2026, the Special Victims Unit and investigators from the Southwest Sheriff’s Station served a search warrant in the 31000 block of Iris Way, Temecula. Mai was located and taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Southwest Sheriff’s Station and later booked into the Cois Byrd Detention on multiple sexual assault charges.

This investigation is active and ongoing, and no further information will be released at this time.
