July 10, 2026 – Sutter County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Saturday, July 4, 2026, around 8:00 p.m., Sutter County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of threats involving a firearm and shots fired in the 600 block of Allen Way in Yuba City.

What began as a 911 call quickly turned into an extensive investigation. Deputies secured the scene, interviewed multiple witnesses, collected evidence, and worked through conflicting statements to determine what had occurred. During the investigation, deputies confirmed shots had been fired during an altercation between two individuals.

After obtaining a search warrant for the residence, deputies recovered a .45 caliber Springfield XD handgun believed to have been used in the incident, along with additional evidence.

46-year-old Gregory Fitch of Yuba City was taken into custody and booked into the Sutter County Jail on multiple firearm and felony possession related charges.

No deputies or citizens were injured during this incident.
