Suspect Flees After Striking and Killing Pedestrian 

July 14, 2026 – Van Nuys, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that the Valley Traffic Division Detectives (VTD) are investigating a hit-and-run traffic collision that left a pedestrian deceased.

On Saturday, July 11, 2026, around 12:50 a.m., a gray 2005-2011 Toyota Tacoma was traveling northbound on Sepulveda Boulevard at Wyandotte Street when it struck a pedestrian walking eastbound Sepulveda Boulevard in an unmarked crosswalk. The gray Toyota Tacoma continued northbound Sepulveda Boulevard without stopping, identifying themselves, or rendering aid as required by law.

The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the pedestrian deceased. She is described as a female, approximately 38 years old. Her identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.

Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
