Shooting in Delleker 

July 31, 2026 – Plumas County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on July 30, 2026, shortly after 2:00 a.m., the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Communications Center received a 911 call reporting that a shooting had occurred at an address on Delleker Park Drive in Delleker, California.

Deputies from the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office, officers from the California Highway Patrol, and fire and medical personnel responded to the scene. Upon arrival, responders located a single male victim suffering from what appeared to be a single gunshot wound.

The victim was ultimately transported to a trauma center, where he remains in critical condition. The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office extends its sincere thoughts and support to the victim, his loved ones, and all those affected by this incident during this difficult time.

Plumas County Sheriff’s Office investigators and administrators responded to the scene and began an in-depth investigation. Through the course of that investigation, a suspect was identified as Michael Romero, 47, of Graeagle, California.

Following a canvass of the area, Romero was located in his vehicle in the Graeagle area and was taken into custody without incident.

Based on the information currently available, investigators believe this was an isolated incident and there is no further threat to the public at large.
