August 17, 2026 – Yuba City Police Department officials report that on last Saturday, August 8th at around 10:40 
p.m., an officer, with the assistance of Flock Safety cameras, located a stolen vehicle in the parking lot of a Circle K located at 1263 Franklin Avenue in Yuba City. The vehicle had been reported stolen approximately 30 minutes earlier.
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, which was being driven by 25-year-old Michael Harrison of Gridley, with 18-year-old Myra Lara of Gridley as a passenger. Initially, the vehicle stopped, and the occupants complied with officers' commands; however, Harrison subsequently fled in the stolen vehicle, leading officers on a pursuit through city streets.
The pursuit concluded at the dead end of Wilson Avenue when Harrison lost control of the vehicle and collided with a barricade fence. Following the collision, both occupants exited the vehicle and fled on foot.

A search of the area was conducted, and Lara was located in a nearby canal and taken into custody without further incident. Harrison was not immediately located; however, he was located and arrested the following morning by YCPD A-Day Shift officers.
Both Harrison and Lara were booked into the Sutter County Jail on charges related to the incident, including possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting arrest, and evading law enforcement.
