Update: Dixie Fire - Evacuation Order and Warnings Reduced for Some Areas of Lassen County (1:00 P.M.)

Lassen County mandatory evacuation orders have been reduced to evacuation warnings and some warnings have been lifted.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

Mandatory evacuation orders have been reduced to evacuation warnings for the following areas:

  • Milford area east (lake side) of Hwy 395 from the Milford Grade intersection south to the Flux Rd intersection – Zone LAS-E008-A
  • McCoy Flat area south of Hwy 44 from County Rd A21 east to Hog Flat Reservoir – Zone LAS-E028

ALL OTHER EVACUATION ORDERS AND WARNINGS REMAIN IN EFFECT.

SAFETY MESSAGE: Be aware that there will be an increase presence of law enforcement and fire personnel working in the area. Use caution, drive with your headlights on, and yield to emergency personnel.

Update:  At 1:00 P.M. Plumas County is making the following changes:

The evacuation warning for the following areas have been lifted:

  • Caribou Rd north to the Humbug Rd and Humboldt Rd intersection This includes Belden Reservoir and Butt Valley Reservoir [PLU Zone 3]
  • The community of Seneca south to Hwy70 [PLU Zone 4A]
  • Long Valley and north of Seneca areas [PLU Zone 4B]
  • Humbug Road from the intersection of the Humbug-Humboldt Road west to the Butte County line and everything south of the Humbug Road [PLU Zone 6]
  • Hwy 36 south to the west side of Hwy 89, including Mud Lake, Soldiers Meadows, and Shanghai Creek area, south to Humbug Road, and west to Butte County line [PLU Zone 6A]
  • From the Hwy 89/Hwy 36 Junction, north along Stover Mountain Road to the County Line, and west from the Hwy 89/Hwy 36 Junction along the south side of the highway to the county line. [PLU Zone 7]
  • Chester Juniper Lake Road north, Hwy 312 northwest, Forest Road 28N61 north west. [PLU Zone 8A]
  • Manzanita Mtn. Echo Lake areas. North of Hwy 36 [PLU Zone 38 A]

Be vigilant to weather and wind conditions and take any future orders seriously, should they change.

September 5, 2021 -  Dixie Fire Updates to Evacuation Orders, Warnings, and Road Information for Sunday, September 5, 2021

Additional Plumas NF Campgrounds Available for Dixie Fire Evacuees

Additional National Forest campgrounds are available for Dixie Fire evacuees while the Regional Forest Closure Order No. 21-07 is in effect. These campgrounds are in the areas of Meadow Valley, La Porte Road, and the Lake Basin Recreation Area. The campgrounds are free of charge but have limited services available at this time.

Open campgrounds include Meadow Camp, Rock Creek, and Deanes Valley Campgrounds in the Meadow Valley area, Red Bridge Campground off La Porte Road, and Lakes Basin Campground off Gold Lake Highway (County Ro. 519).

Limited services are available at these open campgrounds there is no water, and no wood campfires are allowed. Evacuees should bring a self-contained, portable heat source to cook meals, such as a propane camp stove or barbecue. -2575, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Evacuees will need to obtain a 7700-48 permit to stay in one of the campgrounds listed above. A Forest Service representative can provide evacuees with the form when they are servicing campgrounds, or evacuees can contact one of the phone numbers listed below.
