I, too, am “long” on Mariposa. I grew up here. My father served as an elected official in Mariposa for over 25 years. However, these facts alone do not make me uniquely qualified to follow in his footsteps. I, too, returned to Mariposa after a lengthy hiatus to find a very different community than that which I left: a community not steeped in the past, but one much richer in the arts; a community facing new challenges. Kris Casto is the one with the experience who can help guide Mariposa into the future.

I have lived in large cities, often noting that my vote is just one of tens of thousands and, though still important, has less impact. Here in this small town, EVERY vote counts! This is not an election where one should sit back and let others decide what is best. Nor is this an election where one should “give” a vote based only on a candidate’s Mariposan childhood.

Compared with Kris Casto's experience, accomplishments and vision, her opponent’s “long” list of qualifications and experience is woefully short. I shall definitely cast my vote for Kris Casto for Supervisor in District 3.
