The Board of Supervisors should be ashamed for not calling for a special meeting during the holidays to authorize a Mariposa County Sheriff Officer as our representative to attend the New York City police officers funerals.

It is the same as a military soldier getting killed protecting out freedom. Budget problems shouldn't have been a concern especially when severance pay is currently being given to several personnel sucking away our tax dollars for doing absolutely nothing. It is a shame that their priorities have no flexibility for change. Does morality and character not matter anymore?
