Dear Editor:Recent letters to the editor by Lorraine Freeman and Ruth Catalan have highlighted transportation challenges in the county, both for residents of North County and for seniors.
These letters have appeared at a good time; the Mariposa County Local Transportation Commission is holding a hearing on Tuesday, June 16, focusing on transportation needs in Mariposa. The meeting is at 9:00 a.m. at the Board of Supervisor chambers.

Citizens with transportation difficulties miss out on so much – they can’t make their doctor appointments, participate in jury duty, vote, enjoy our recreational opportunities, and may even have problems getting their prescriptions filled. Good transportation is vital to our county; I hope the Commission can improve access to it.
