August 29, 2022 - To Our Many Supporters: There are so many of you that I want to thank for all the support we received during the Oak Fire.

When the Oak Fire started, we opened our doors to all small animals impacted by the fire. In addition to the 8 dogs and 20 cats waiting for adoption, we sheltered an additional 45 dogs, 40 cats, and 20 chickens. As word of this reached the public, people including merchants stepped up and started dropping off donations of much needed cash, dog and cat food, kitty litter, cleaning supplies, additional portable kennels and beds, and food for our volunteers. You have no idea how much it was appreciated, needed, and used. Thank you to all of you.

This outpouring of generosity came from not only our own Mariposa community but also the surrounding areas of Oakhurst, Madera, Raymond, Merced, Fresno and as far as San Francisco, San Jose, Gilroy and more. It was amazing.

I would like to extend a very special thank you to the to all the volunteers who donated their time and the staff who practically lived at the shelter 24 hours a day to help care for all the animals. You are blessings from heaven.

And to all of you who helped in some small way including prayers and support, thank you so much. You made a difficult situation a little bit easier for us to handle.
