September 8, 2022 - This November, Mariposa County residents will have the opportunity to vote to fill two vacancies on the Mariposa County Unified School District’s Board of Trustees/Board of Education; one is for District 1 and one is for District 3.  All voting eligible residents of Mariposa County can vote to fill these vacancies and I am putting my full support and vote to Robert “Bob” Morse for District 3.

I just recently retired from the school district after 22 plus years of service where I spent 14 of those years in Human Resources.  During my time as Personnel Coordinator, I worked closely with Bob in his role as our Director of Transportation/Maintenance/Operations/Facilities.  Bob always made his staff and the students of MCUSD his number one priority in his decision-making process.  Overseeing the operations of transporting hundreds of Mariposa students over the 1400 plus square miles of geographically unique terrain of Mariposa County was something that Bob paid special care and attention to.  The safety of his drivers and the students who rode those busses was a number one priority for Bob.

When Bob left MCUSD to advance his career goals at Central Unified School District, we remained friends and he remained connected to Mariposa County.  After Bob retired from Central Unified, he moved back to Mariposa County and immediately got involved in the community and with Sierra Foothill Charter School where his daughter now teaches and his grandson attends school. 

I could go on and on about the number of reasons that I am supporting and casting my vote for Robert “Bob” Morse for District 3 School Board Trustee; however, the one reason that rises above all the rest for me is that Bob cares deeply about and is committed to seeing that ALL kids get a good education. He knows that not all kids learn in the same way, on the same day.  He supports and encourages all educational pathways and goals including two-year to four-year colleges, trade schools or immediate employment after graduation.

As a school board member, I have full confidence that Bob Morse will ensure that ALL students are given the necessary educational tools to be successful regardless of the path that they choose; that the hardworking and dedicated teachers and classified staff of MCUSD receive the support and resources they need and deserve; and that parents/guardians and families are heard, respected and part of the educational process of their kids.

I strongly encourage you to join me in casting your vote for Robert “Bob” Morse for District 3 School Board. Your vote is a vote for students, families and staff; surrounded by and embedded with Integrity, Reliability and Experience.
