September 23, 2022 - I endorse Mr. Robert (Bob) Morse, who is a non-partisan candidate for the Mariposa County Unified School District Board of Trustees (School Board), representing District 3.
Voters Countywide cast votes for all School Board seats. School Board members are the public’s voice in local school administration.
I represented District 1 on the Board of Trustees between 2002-2006. During my term, I became acquainted with Bob Morse. I met him for the first time when I was a panel member interviewing him for the position of District Director of Transportation. Within a few minutes, I learned two important things about Bob:
- He was an experienced school transportation professional.
- He was a confident person who demonstrated a desire to support the Board of Trustees, Superintendent of Schools, school district staff at all levels, and parents and children.
During my term as a Trustee, I learned a lot about how school systems operate to serve communities. One of the people whom I learned to respect for their knowledge and integrity was Bob Morse.
I recently learned that Mr. Morse returned to Mariposa County after retiring from a larger school district in Fresno County and is working as a driver/custodian at Sierra Foothill Charter School (SFCS).
I understand that Mr. Morse’s career includes a broad spectrum of duties, including custodial, bus mechanic, bus driver, and transportation and maintenance administration. These are important programs in any district, and the Mariposa County Board of Trustees will benefit from Mr. Morse’s knowledge and experience. With his qualifications, Mr. Morse will be an asset to our public school system.
By returning to Mariposa County, Mr. Morse demonstrates his commitment to our County, our schools, and our children. He could have gone elsewhere, but he has chosen to make his home in Mariposa County and to serve his community.
I encourage each voter to choose Robert “Bob” Morse on November 8.
