A MARIPOSA MESSAGE:While serving as a volunteer over the Labor Day County Fair I received a tremendous boost from a young couple with two small children, and I want to share it with you.
They came by our booth and admired our work, and told us of their upcoming plans to move their family to Mariposa. As a matter of fact he has already made an offer on property which is now in escrow. He is a Technician at a large San Jose firm obviously with a good job, but unhappy with the overcrowding, the crime, the lack of freedom and the bad air. He wants his kids to grow up in an atmosphere of safety, friendships, good schooling and clean air and the opportunity to live among natural surroundings that are so sorely missed in the urban areas.
I assured him all of these advantages are available to them in Mariposa, and that our schools are excellent in every way. Not only that but our community would certainly be welcoming him and his family.
Perhaps our governance is a little contentious, but if he involved himself in the community to provide us with important improvements we would all be better off including his family.
In my humble opinion this is exactly what Mariposa so badly needs, new blood, young families, 21st Century technology, and a genuine respect for our place in the history of the State of California.
Let us encourage this type of immigration. We can be the beneficiaries of it.
