The 17th Annual Coarsegold Tarantula Awareness Festival was held on Saturday, October 25, 2014. This video is of the children parading across the stage in their costumes. After the children walked across the stage displaying their costumes they then visited the merchants in the Coarsegold Historic Village to trick or treat.
Earlier in the day there was a Hairy Leg Contest that included entries for both men and women. A Pizza Eating contest for the children had many entries beginning with the 4-7 year old division. They began by eating their pizza slices without using their hands then progressed to using their hands as they chewed furiously to win gift certificates and prizes. The children were also able to decorate pumpkins, read their poetry, scream at the top of their lungs and blow bubbles in separate competitions that were held during the daylong event.
The longest line of the day was to visit Scott's Tarantulas as they had many tarantulas on display that could be held by the people brave enough to hold one as the above photo depicts.
