October 18, 2018 - Soroptimist International of Mariposa is now accepting applications for this year’s “Soroptimist’s Live Your Dream:  Education and Training Awards.”  These cash awards are to help women who provide the primary source of financial support for their families, pay for the costs of improving their education, skills and employment prospects.  Live Your Dream Award recipients may use the cash grant to offset any costs associated with their efforts to attain higher education or training, such as books, childcare, tuition and transportation.

Soroptimists strongly believe that education is the pathway to economically empowering women and girls. This unique program is helping women by offering the resources they need to succeed.

Every year, Soroptimist International distributes more than $2 million in education grants to about 1,500 women all over the world.  Over half of Soroptimist International Live Your Dream Awards recipients are survivors of domestic violence, trafficking or sexual assault. Nearly all of the women and families we serve have overcome enormous obstacles including poverty, teen pregnancy, and drug or alcohol addiction.

Applications and references must be submitted by Thursday, November 15, 2018.  All filings must be submitted on-line at www.soroptimist.org/our-work/live-your-dream-awards.
