February 16, 2019 - The National Weather Service Hanford Office reports a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the Southern Sierra foothills above 1,500 feet until 4:00 P.M. Sunday afternoon.

For Mariposa, Madera, and Fresno County Foothills -Tulare County Foothills - Including the cities of Oakhurst, Mariposa, Springville, and Three Rivers.

The heaviest snow will begin Saturday afternoon and persist into Saturday night.

Four to eight inches of snow is expected above 1,500 feet.

Storm total snow amounts of up to a foot possible above 3,500 feet.

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM PST
SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Snow...heavy at times. Total snow accumulations 4 to 8
  inches with up to a foot possible above 3500 feet.

* WHERE...Mariposa, Madera, and Fresno County Foothills and
  Tulare County Foothills above 1500 feet.

* WHEN...Snow moving in again this morning and continuing through
  the day. Snow may taper off Saturday night but then increase
  again Sunday morning before ending Sunday evening. Snow levels
  will be between 2000 to 3000 feet today then lower to around
  1500 feet Sunday morning.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Travel could be very difficult. Possible
  road closures and dangerous travel conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads
and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
