Activity – The afternoon of July 16, 2019, has had excellent progress in the suppression actions toward containment of the Fish Fire. Activity is mostly concentrated to the east flank where crews continue to keep the fire from entering the San Joaquin River drainage. Where containment is being held crews are maintaining and strengthening those lines. After more accurate mapping the acreage burned is down by 10 acres, while containment has risen to 50 percent.

There are no threatened structures, and there have been no injuries to fire personnel. Smoke impact of varying degrees can be expected as the fire continues to burn, and will felt in the local recreational areas. Fish Fire burning on the Sierra National Forest, in the burn footprint of the 2014 French Fire

July 16, 2019 - Clovis, Calif. - At 4:17 P.M. on July 15, 2019 the Fish Fire was reported on the Bass Lake Ranger District of the Sierra National Forest. The Fish Fire is burning entirely inside the perimeter of the 2014 French Fire, within close proximity to the Fish Creek Campground. The fire is burning on the downhill side of the 4S81 road, above the San Joaquin River.
