September 29, 2020 - The U.S. Forest Service reports smoke and air quality outlook for the San Joaquin-Yosemite areas, due to the Creek Fire.

Fire: Fire behavior is expected to be moderate to active again on the Creek Fire due to warm and dry conditions. Smoke: Moderate to heavy Smoke from the Creek Fire is lingering in our forecast area and drifting northerly due to southwest winds along the foothills. This is leading to a more pronounced smoke impact in areas, such as Mariposa and Yosemite Park, with midday spikes to Unhealthy conditions. The west-southwest upslope winds will alleviate smoke impacts later today for the communities west of the fire perimeter (e.g., Oakhurst, North Fork and Prather) that have been experiencing smoky conditions all morning. However, communities to the east, such as Mammoth Lakes and Bishop, can expect light to moderate smoke impacts later in the day due to smoke drifting east over the Sierra crest.
