September 30, 2020 - High Sierra Ranger District and Fresno County Sheriff’s Office to allow temporary entry to collect belongings and close cabins.

Prather, CA. – The Sierra National Forest (SNF) High Sierra Ranger District and Fresno County Sheriff’s Office will allow individuals who were evacuated from campgrounds, camping areas, and USDA Forest Servicecabins during Creek Fire an opportunity to return and collect their belongings.

There will be a set period of time on October 3rd & 4th, allowing folks to clean out refrigerators, winterize homes and move back off the forest.

October 3rd & 4th, 2020

From 7:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. – Access will be allowed by permit for Mckinley Grove to Wishon to Courtright Roads.

From: 2:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. – Dinkey and Rock Creek areas

From 7:00 A.M. – 7:00 P.M. – Huntington Lake and Camp Sierra areas.

From: 7:00 A.M. – 7:00 P.M. – access will be granted those needing to remove their boats

The time frames allotted will be strictly enforced, SNF law enforcement along with the sheriff’s office will sweep the area to be sure that no parties are deciding to hang out, loiter, or observe the burned areas of the Creek Fire.

Individuals without an official permit will not be granted access.
