August 13, 2014 - SACRAMENTO – Assembly Water, Parks, and Wildlife Committee Vice Chair Frank Bigelow, R-O’Neals, today issued the following statement responding to Wednesday’s vote by the Legislature to put an alternative water bond on the November 2014 ballot:

“From day one, my Republican colleagues and I made it clear that water storage funding was the most important element of any potential new water bond proposal.  Today, lawmakers finally answered the pleas of farmers, small business owners, and working families across the state in voting to place an alternative water bond on the ballot.”

“This water bond proposal includes a much-needed down-payment for many vital water storage projects, and puts California on track toward creating a reliable water supply for generations to come.  Voters will at long last have the chance to make their voices heard on California’s water future this November, and I am confident that this bond will earn their support.”
