Homicide Investigation Update 

March 3, 2024 - Fresno Police Department officials report that on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 12:37 pm, officers from the Northwest Policing District responded to the 4200 block of North Fruit Avenue regarding a report of a gunshot victim.

Officers arrived and located 38-year-old Deandre Jackson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to CRMC for treatment; however he did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased. At 12:45 pm, officers received another call of a shooting victim, this time in the 3100 block of West Norwich Avenue. This victim was identified as a 16-year-old male juvenile. The juvenile victim was transported to CRMC and is still listed in critical but stable condition.

Through their investigation, homicide detectives have identified the 16-year-old male juvenile as the person responsible for the fatal shooting of Deandre Jackson. Investigators have obtained a warrant for his arrest, and once the juvenile is cleared from a local hospital, he will be arrested and charged with murder.

We are not releasing the name or photograph of the suspect since he is a juvenile.
