March 19, 2024 - Fresno County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Monday, a Fresno County Judge sentenced 48-year-old Sandra Garcia to prison for life without parole.  The case dates back to 2016 when Garcia orchestrated a kidnapping, which resulted in the torture and sexual assault of a then 13-year-old Clovis girl.

Garcia used her cousin, Miguel Carriedo and two sons, Mark Roque, and Brandon Roque to carry out her plan.

Garcia was dating the child’s father at the time.  The motive was to scare the girl into leaving her Clovis home that Garcia and the man were sharing; hoping she would move in with her mother who lived in another country.

Brandon Roque would later accept a plea deal, sending him to prison.  Miguel Carriedo and Mark Roque are still awaiting sentencing.
