Man Killed in Collision During Pursuit 

November 26, 2024 – Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Monday afternoon, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office Stan SO pursuitdeputies were involved in a vehicle pursuit with a male who was wanted for multiple felony charges. During the pursuit, the suspect car collided with another. Unfortunately, the suspect died at the scene, and three other people were injured, all of whom were transported to hospitals for medical attention.

On Monday, November 25, 2024, deputies were attempting to conduct a traffic stop of a man near Crows Landing Road and Boulder Avenue, who was wanted for assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence, dissuading a witness, and another warrant for domestic violence and assault with a deadly weapon. The 40-year-old fled, leading deputies on a vehicle pursuit. While approaching Crows Landing Road and 7th Street, the car collided with another.

When deputies approached the involved vehicles, they found the suspect to be unresponsive and attempted life-saving measures at the scene, but he was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene. The other car was occupied by one man, a woman, and a boy. All three suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to hospitals for treatment of their injuries.

Due to his next of kin not yet being notified, the deceased man’s name is not being released at this time. The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene to investigate the collision. If you have any information related to the traffic accident, you may contact the CHP at (209) 545-7440.
