New Red-Light Cameras Installed in Merced 

April 21, 2025 – Merced Police Department  officials announce that starting the week of April 21, Merced is launching a new automated traffic safety program to reduce reckless speeding and red-light running.

Cameras will be active at 16th Street & R Street (both directions) on the week of April 21st. A 30-day warning period begins this week — no citations yet, just reminders.

Citations will begin 30 days later, so now’s the time to adjust your habits.
