April 25, 2025 – Fresno Police Department officials report that Southeast patrol officers responded to the area of Peach Avenue and Grove Avenue in response to a report of a disturbance with a firearm. Upon arrival, officers were contacted by an adult neighbor who was in possession of the firearm which he had picked up off the ground after witnessing two juvenile subjects physically fighting nearby.
During the investigation, officers learned that a 15-year-old male had been selling jewelry via social media. A 16-year-old female responded to the listing, negotiated a price, and arranged to meet near her home. At the meet-up location, the male handed the earrings to the female for inspection, but she pocketed them and began walking away. The female then opened her sweater, revealing that she was in possession of a firearm. A physical altercation ensued and the firearm fell to the ground. The adult neighbor observed the two subjects fighting, retrieved the loaded firearm from the ground, and contacted the police.
The female was arrested and charged with robbery, minor in possession of a firearm, and possession of an illegal firearm, as the firearm was privately manufactured. She was booked into the Juvenile Justice Center.
