May 24, 2025 – Fresno Police Department officials report that on May 11, 2025, at 7:18 p.m., officers from the Southwest Policing District responded to the area of Belmont Avenue and Orchard Street regarding a victim of a gunshot wound. Upon arrival, officers located the victim who was transported to CRMC where he was listed in stable condition. Officers and detectives located video surveillance footage which was posted to our social media pages which led to a Crimestoppers tip on the identity of the suspect. Felony Assault (FAU) detectives were able to identify Andy Ramos as the suspect and an arrest warrant was obtained.
On May 22, 2025, FAU detectives were in the area of Orange Avenue and Central Avenue when they observed Ramos riding a bicycle. With the assistance of motor units, Southwest patrol, and the SVB Tac Team, they were able to detain him. Ramos confessed to shooting the victim.
Ramos was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail for PC 664/187 Attempted Murder.
