June 10, 2025 - MADERA, CA - Valley Children’s Hospital, a leading pediatric healthcare provider in California’s Central Valley, on Monday announced a new collaboration with Beyond Air, Inc. to bring its innovative LungFit® PH system to the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). This partnership underscores Valley Children’s commitment to providing the highest standard of care for its youngest patients by investing in advanced, sustainable technologies that improve clinical outcomes and operational efficiencies.
As the first freestanding children’s hospital to adopt the LungFit® PH system, Valley Children’s is leading the way in pioneering new solutions for the treatment of persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN). This tankless system generates nitric oxide (NO) on-demand from ambient air, eliminating the need for high-pressure gas cylinders and streamlining hospital workflows.
“At Valley Children’s, we are dedicated to ensuring that our patients receive the most advanced and effective treatments available,” said Bryon Martinho, Respiratory Care Manager at Valley Children’s Hospital. “Partnering with Beyond Air to bring the LungFit® PH system into our NICU aligns with our mission to deliver exceptional care while embracing innovative solutions that enhance sustainability, improve workflow, and simplify training across our teams.”
Beyond Air’s LungFit® PH system provides an alternative to traditional cylinder-based NO delivery, offering a more flexible and efficient approach to treating neonates with hypoxic respiratory failure. By eliminating the logistical challenges of storing and handling gas cylinders, the technology supports Valley Children’s ongoing commitment to safety, sustainability, and excellence in pediatric respiratory care.
“Valley Children’s Hospital has long been at the forefront of pediatric healthcare, and we are honored to collaborate with them to introduce a groundbreaking approach to nitric oxide delivery,” said Steve Lisi, Chairman and CEO of Beyond Air. “This partnership represents an important step in expanding access to life-saving technology for the youngest and most vulnerable patients.”
By integrating the LungFit® PH system, Valley Children’s continues its tradition of leading with innovation, ensuring that every child in its care has access to the best possible treatments. This collaboration further exemplifies the hospital’s dedication to adopting state-of-the-art medical advancements that make a tangible difference in the lives of children and their families.
