Illegal Indoor Marijuana Cultivation 

November 8, 2025 – Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at approximately 8:00 a.m., the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) conducted an operation at an illegal indoor marijuana cultivation site on E. Center Street in Mokelumne Hill.

The investigation began after the Sheriff’s Office received anonymous tips reporting suspicious activity on the property. Deputies confirmed a large, illegal, commercial-style indoor grow operating inside a shop building next to the main house.

During the eradication operation, deputies seized nearly 1,000 mature marijuana plants and approximately 46 pounds of processed marijuana. Indicators at the scene suggest the location may be linked to a larger illegal cultivation network. No suspects were located at the time of the operation. The case remains under investigation.
