April 23, 2026 – Fresno Police Department on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, shortly after 10:30 P.M., the Fresno Police Department received a call of a robbery in the area of Belmont Avenue and Fowler Avenue. The victim advised he had been assaulted by two suspects who stole his wallet and backpack. The victim also advised that the two suspects fled the area in a 2004 silver Honda Accord. Aircrew members arrived in the area and began searching the area for the suspects. Aircrew found a vehicle matching the description in a nearby neighborhood and noticed the vehicle was briefly driving with its headlights turned off.
Aircrew members witnessed the suspect vehicle traveling east on Belmont towards Fowler Avenue and then through the intersection, failing to stop at a red light. Aircrew members continued monitoring the vehicle and communicated with ground patrol units to keep them updated of the vehicle’s location.
Ground patrol officers attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop on the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to yield. The aircrew members then continued to track the vehicle. The suspect vehicle drove recklessly onto Kings Canyon Avenue and was eventually involved in a traffic collision as it drove through a red light at Clovis Avenue.
After the collision, the driver of the vehicle ran from the vehicle. Aircrew members were able to continue tracking the suspect, assisted ground patrol units by setting up a perimeter around the area, and guiding officers to the suspect’s location. The suspect was detained by officers. A passenger who remained in the suspect vehicle was also detained.
Both suspects were identified as the suspects responsible for the robbery and were both arrested. Both suspects were arrested for charges related to this investigation including robbery, and conspiracy to commit robbery. The driver was also arrested for misdemeanor evading, drug DUI, misdemeanor hit and run, driving without a valid driver’s license. Our aircrew members and patrol officers remain committed to keeping our community safe, including tracking and aiding in the apprehension of those that victimize people in our community.
