April 30, 2026 – Sonora Police Department officials report that early on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, the Sonora Police Department executed a search warrant at a residence in Sonora after receiving a cyber tip from the Sacramento Valley Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. The subsequent investigation determined that 26-year-old Phoenix Raymond Farris was associated with the online platform named in the cyber tip. A subsequent search of Farris's online activity revealed additional images and videos of child pornography. Additional evidence of the crime, along with suspected methamphetamine, was discovered during the execution of the search warrant. Farris was booked at the Tuolumne County Jail with a "No Bail" status on multiple felony charges relating to child pornography and the possession of methamphetamine.
Another occupant of the residence, 22-year-old Valor Charles Farris, was arrested for misdemeanor possession of suspected cocaine. There is no evidence to suggest Valor Farris is involved in the child pornography crimes prompting this investigation.
Members of the Stanislaus County Human Exploitation and Trafficking Team, the Tuolumne County Probation Department, the California Highway Patrol, CalFire Law Enforcement branch, and the California State Parks Police assisted in the operation and the safe execution of the warrant service.
It's important to remember that the individuals mentioned in this report were arrested based on suspicion of the crimes they've been charged with. All such charges are mere allegations, and all defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty.
