May 15, 2026 – Fresno County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Wednesday, May 13, a deputy working patrol conducted a traffic stop for a violation on Interstate 5, east of Coalinga.
The deputy contacted two men in the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, 15.4 pounds of fentanyl was discovered. The deputy arrested both men who were then booked into jail on charges related to narcotics possession and intent to sell narcotics.
This remains an ongoing investigation. The suspects' names are not available for release at this time.
This drug bust follows a similar case that took place on April 11. On that date, a deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on Interstate 5. K-9 Willow alerted his handler to the odor of narcotics and 6.6 pounds of fentanyl was found inside the vehicle. The deputy arrested two men who were then booked into jail on charges related to narcotics possession and intent to sell narcotics.
This case also remains an ongoing investigation and the suspects' names are not available for release at this time.
