June 10, 2026 - Madera County, CA. – Madera County residents and the thousands of commuters traveling daily on State Route 41 between Avenues 10 ½ and
15 will now be able to receive Expressway Project updates in real time. Today marks the start of construction, along with the launch of the new website, 41expressway.com. The interactive website equipped with videos and construction maps will help keep the public informed on all phases of the project through its completion in May 2028.

The SR 41 Expressway Project is the largest transportation improvement project in County history. The $130 million project is a major thoroughfare to Yosemite National Park, transporting millions of visitors each year. Led by Madera County in coordination with Caltrans and regional partners, the project is expected to reduce congestion, improve travel times, and accommodate future residential and commercial growth along the corridor. The 4.6-mile expansion improvements include widening the highway to four lanes, construction of a new southbound bridge over Avenue 11, intersection expansion and improvements to the traffic signal at Avenue 12, and modifications to the existing intersection at Avenue 15.
